Websites and Google visibility for hotels, holiday rentals, trades and premium local services.

LocalDominate is a growth studio: strategy, brand, website and marketing as one project. The method is the same for every business. What we check first and what we build depends on how your customers find you and decide. Choose your kind of business.

Owner-run · 10 to 60 rooms

Hotels and guesthouses

A full house is not the same as a direct booking.

An owner-run hotel fills many of its rooms through booking platforms and pays commission on each of those nights. Guests who look the hotel up by name land on a website that has one job: let them book without leaving. If that page is slow on a phone, or the booking engine looks like a different company, the guest goes back to the platform.

Illustration, not a client's premises.

What we look at first

  1. On Google

What a guest sees when they search your hotel by name: the profile, the photos, the rates shown, and who owns the first booking link.

  2. On your website

The way from the first screen to a room and a rate on a phone, counted in taps.

  3. In the booking engine

Whether dates, rates and the final price match what the platforms show, and at which step guests leave.

  4. In your numbers

Whether your tracking can tell a direct booking from a platform booking.

What we build

  • A direct-booking website, mobile first, connected to your booking engine
  • Room and offer pages that answer what guests ask before they book
  • A complete Google Business Profile that leads to your own website
  • Tracking that separates direct bookings from platform bookings

What turns visits into customers, and customers into repeat business?

A hotel of this size usually has guests and a website already. The first thing to fix is what happens between the visit and the booking.

Commission calculator · for hotels and hosts

What do platform bookings cost you in a year?

Work it out with your own numbers. Nothing is filled in for you, and nothing you type leaves this page.

How it is calculated

Room nights per year
= rooms or properties × 365 × occupancy
Revenue via platforms
= room nights × rate per night × platform share
Commission paid per year
= revenue via platforms × commission rate
One percentage point moved to direct booking
= room nights × rate per night × 1 % × commission rate

This is arithmetic with your numbers only, not a forecast. It assumes every night is sold at the average rate, and it leaves out what a direct booking costs you, such as payment fees or advertising.

Nights sold across the whole year. If you close for a season, count those nights as empty.

Of all your bookings, the part that arrives through booking platforms.

From your platform statement, including any extra programmes you pay for.

Hosts with several properties · small property managers

Holiday rentals

Several properties, and no booking page of your own.

A host with several properties runs them through platform listings, with one calendar per platform. Guests who want to come back, and people who heard about the place from friends, have nowhere to book except the platform. So commission is paid even on guests you had already won. One booking page for all properties gives them a direct way in.

Illustration: the living room of a holiday apartment with a large window onto a mountain lake at sunset
Illustration, not a client's premises.

What we look at first

  1. On the platforms

How each property is listed today: photos, descriptions and house rules, and what differs from one platform to the next.

  2. On Google

What appears when someone searches the name of a property or of your rental business.

  3. In your calendar

How availability is kept in sync, and whether a direct booking fits in without a double booking.

  4. In past bookings

Which guests came back or came by recommendation. They are the first who could book direct.

What we build

  • One booking website for all properties, each with its own page
  • Availability and booking requests connected to the calendar you already use, where your system allows it
  • A short kit for returning guests: the direct link, a QR code for each property and an email text
  • A Google Business Profile for the rental business, if it qualifies under Google's rules

Google's guidelines exclude single holiday homes from Business Profiles. A rental business with an office can qualify. We check this before any profile work.

Trades

A recommended business still gets looked up.

Most jobs come by recommendation. Before calling, people look the business up: the Google profile, the reviews, a website that shows the work. Old opening hours, no photos of real jobs and no service area make a recommended business look closed or careless, and that is the moment the customer decides whether to call.

Schematic of a Google Business Profile: the seven fields we go through and what each one is compared with.

What we look at first

  1. On Google Maps

Name, category, service area, hours and phone number, compared with your van, your invoice and your website.

  2. In the reviews

How recent they are, which jobs they mention, and whether anyone answers them.

  3. On your website

Whether each high-value job has its own page, for example heat pump, bathroom, rewiring, roof or solar, and whether the page names the places you serve.

  4. At the first contact

What happens after hours: who gets the call or the form, and how fast the customer hears back.

What we build

  • A corrected, complete Google Business Profile with services and service area
  • One page per high-value job, with photos of your own work
  • An enquiry form that asks what you need for a quote: job, place, timing, photos
  • A simple routine for asking finished customers for a review

Practices · law and tax firms · several locations

Premium local services

A considered decision is made before the first call.

Someone choosing a dentist, a lawyer or a tax adviser compares for a while and decides before making contact. What they compare is what they can see: who works there, what the firm is known for, how others describe it, how easy it is to get an appointment. With several locations, each one has to show the same correct details.

Location 1Location 2Location 3One standardNameAddressPhoneHoursCategories
Every location keeps its own page and profile. The details that must match come from one place.

What we look at first

  1. In search

What appears for your name, and for your field plus your town, checked for each location separately.

  2. On each profile

Whether name, address, phone, hours and categories match across every location and every directory that matters in your field.

  3. On your website

Whether people, qualifications and fields of work are shown with enough substance to be believed, and whether each location has its own page.

  4. At the first contact

How an enquiry is handled: who answers, how fast, and what the person is told next.

What we build

  • One correct profile per location, with a shared standard for names, categories and hours
  • Pages for people and fields of work, written to be checked rather than to impress
  • A page for each location with its own details and directions
  • An enquiry workflow: the form creates the contact, notifies the right person and confirms to the sender

Health, legal and tax professions have their own advertising rules. We leave out any claim about outcomes and ask you to clear the wording with your chamber or adviser where needed.
